now onto the bedroom, the before:
my pal had purchased the rug and had the comforter hiding in a ‘might return’ box – we both loved it and set out to make it work!

the eclectic, colorful, organized chaos, after:
in love – right? very on trend and colorful, and perfectly her! trying not to spend a lot – we recycled the larger euro shams and the bed skirt from her previous comforter set. the green and navy ikat pillow ties the bed together, and matches the $13 lamp base and $23 shade (that’s under $40 for a lamp if you’re adding…) that then ties the room together.
we moved the old side table from the living room to the bedroom and pulled in accessories from around the house.
the picture frames above the bed (acting as a head board) are just framed wrapping paper sheets from ikea.
cheap hat as art project: again, to save money we used what we had. i’m a big fan of displaying jewelry and accessories as decor. we simply used the smallest command hooks and strips, so the hats are just ‘hanging’ out looking fab.
here’s how all the patterns played together in the bedroom and from room to room. we wanted to make sure everything meshed for cohesiveness – since you can see one room from another, but by no means did we want them to match.
i’ll share a few more san fran works in progress tomorrow!
origins of the bedroom: comforter – target; lamp – target; shade – target; rug – overstock; frames – ikea
